Support Bands For Heroes
Bands For Heroes has run every Monday since 2017 - funded out of pocket, with no government funding. Your gift means John’s dedication doesn’t have to carry the whole program alone.
Help Us Keep the Music Going
Your support helps remove the barriers that keep Veterans from participating. One of the biggest challenges is transportation. Many participants travel long distances with instruments and equipment, and public transit is often not practical. Some rely on rideshare services that can run close to $200 a month - money most are covering themselves. Others get there because a fellow Veteran offers a ride and covers the gas, trading one unaffordable cost for a favor between friends. Donations help make sure Veterans can get to rehearsals and performances, stay involved, and continue showing up for the part of their week that many members would describe as the part that they look forward to the most.
What Your Gift Supports
Transportation
Gas, rideshare, and travel costs so Veterans can reach sessions - especially those driving long distances or carrying instruments. Roughly $200 a month keeps one Veteran attending.
Equipment
Instruments, amps, cables, and supplies so every member arrives ready to play, not just ready to watch. A working core setup for one group runs roughly $6,120 to $9,861.
Programming
The sound system, software, and session tools that let one facilitator lead a room of mixed ability, week after week. A chapter’s full technology setup runs about $750 to $1,399.
Financial Transparency
Bands For Heroes is committed to full financial transparency. Our bylaws and board resolutions are in place, and every dollar spent is properly approved, documented, and supported by receipts and records. Any donor is welcome to see it.
A Personal Invitation
Bands For Heroes exists because we believe Veterans deserve more than words of appreciation - they deserve real opportunities for connection and creativity. When you give to Bands For Heroes, you are not simply funding a music program. You are helping create a space where someone’s week gets better, where a Veteran rediscovers pride in their own ability, and where community grows one rehearsal at a time. Thank you for considering it.
